Set up Nyvo

Set up Nyvo

Before you start

You need the Manage Server permission on the Discord server where you want to add Nyvo.

Add Nyvo

  1. Open the invite page on this site and choose Add to Discord.
  2. Sign in with Discord if asked and pick your server.
  3. Review the permissions Discord shows and confirm.

<!-- OPEN: exact permission list requested by the invite; not in the specs I was allowed to read. -->

Open the control panel

  1. Sign in to the panel with your Discord account.
  2. Pick your server from the list.
  3. Settings for every feature live in the panel.

<!-- OPEN: panel URL and page names for the guide; not in the allowed specs. -->

First steps

  1. Type /help in your server to see the commands.
  2. Turn on the features you want in the panel. Every feature can be turned off again there.
  3. Review the moderation guide to set up automod and logs.

New servers start with automod rules turned off.

Export and import settings

You can export your Nyvo settings as a JSON file and import them into another server. The import shows a preview and checks permissions first. Member data such as XP and economy balances is not included.

Get help

Ask in the Nyvo support server.

<!-- OPEN: support server invite link. -->

Moderation

Moderation

Nyvo groups commands by feature. Moderation commands live under /mod, for example /mod warn.

<!-- OPEN: full /mod subcommand list; the naming table is still OPEN in the specs. Run /help in your server for the current list. -->

Automod

Automod can watch for:

  • spam rate
  • duplicate messages
  • links
  • invites
  • mass mentions
  • excessive caps
  • emoji spam
  • newline spam
  • a word list (a default list plus your own words)

New servers start with every rule off.

Turn on the recommended preset

  1. Open the automod page in the panel.
  2. Choose Recommended preset.
  3. For the first 24 hours the rules only log what they would do. After that they switch to the action you chose.

<!-- OPEN: preset contents and default thresholds. -->

Tune a rule

Each rule has an action, exempt roles and exempt channels. Hits show in the mod log.

Logs

Moderation actions and automod hits are written to the mod log.

<!-- OPEN: how to choose the log channel and which events are logged. -->

Anti-raid, tickets and reports

Nyvo includes anti-raid protection, tickets and member reports.

<!-- OPEN: user-facing steps for anti-raid, tickets, reports and appeals; the interface specs were not in my allowed set. -->

Twitch alerts

Twitch alerts

The Nyvo Twitch integration works for Discord only. It never joins Twitch chat. It posts go-live alerts in your Discord server when a streamer you follow goes live.

Link your Twitch account

  1. Sign in to the panel with Discord.
  2. Choose to link Twitch. Nyvo asks for your connected accounts only at this step.

<!-- OPEN: exact panel page and button labels for linking Twitch. -->

Set up go-live alerts

  1. Open the Twitch page for your server in the panel.
  2. Add the streamer.
  3. Choose the Discord channel for alerts.
  4. Save.

<!-- OPEN: alert message options, role pings, and per-streamer settings; Twitch interface spec was not in my allowed set. -->

Good to know

  • Alerts appear only in Discord.
  • Nyvo does not read or post in Twitch chat.
